Electrode Active Materials for Lithium-Ion Accumulators
Čech, Ondřej ; Oriňáková, Renáta (referee) ; Paidar,, Martin (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This doctoral thesis deals with synthesis and characterisation of electroactive electrode materials for li-ion batteries and accumulators. The work is divided into two main parts. One deals with LiFePO4 based cathode composite electroactive material and in the second is described the synthesis and utilization of monoclinic TiO2(B) as an anode for li-ion cell. The main aim of the work is to relate the synthesis procedure and structural properties of both materials to its electrochemical preformance.

Testing of model for predicting the outcome of professional tennis matches
Karas, Daniel ; Šíma, Jan (advisor) ; Štědroň, Jakub (referee)
Title: Testing of model for predicting the outcome of professional tennis matches Objectives: The aim of this work is to create a simple and easy to understand model to predict tennis matches. Methods: In this thesis it was used secondary analysis of the data for gaining a relevant and current information. In this work it was emphasized on valid data, which should come from the reliable sources. Further, mathematic and statistical methods were used to obtain calculation for determination correct predictions. The obtained data were processed a then they were presented within tables. Results: The modified model based on the Low-point model, which was simplified so the general public could understand it and which used easily searchable and immediately available data, successfully predicted the tournament Australian Open 2021. At the end of the tournament we had more money on the fictitious account than at the beginning. The model was able to correctly predict 5 out of 7 matches and it was in profit when betting on the predicted winner as well as betting on the advantage of the odds. However, when the model was validated at the next two Grand Slams, this model was at loss, so we cannot designate it as long-term profitable. Keywords: tennis, prediction, bet, Australian Open, Grand Slam
Conjugated porous polymers derived from diethynylarenes by chain-growth polymerization and polycyclotrimerization
Slováková, Eva ; Sedláček, Jan (advisor) ; Merna, Jan (referee) ; Červený, Libor (referee)
4 ABSTRACT The synthesis has been described yielding a new type of rigid conjugated polymer networks which possess a high content of permanent micropores and macropores and exhibit high surface areas up to 1469 m2/g. The networks have been prepared via chain-growth coordination polymerization catalysed with insertion catalysts based on Rh complexes. This polymerization has been newly applied to bifunctional acetylenic monomers of diethynylarene type (1,4-diethynylbenzene, 1,3-diethynylbenzene and 4,4'-diethynylbiphenyl). The covalent structure of the networks consists of the polyacetylene main chains densely connected by arylene struts. The W and Mo metathesis catalysts have been revealed as inefficient for the synthesis of these networks. The increase in the polymerization temperature and time has been shown to affect positively the content and the diameter (up to 22 nm) of the mesopores in the networks. A mechanism has been proposed that explains the mesopores formation as a result of mutual knitting of small particles of the microporous polymer. The application of emulsion polymerization technique allowed to prepare texturally hierarchical polyacetylene networks possessing interconnected open macropores (diameter up to 4,8 μm) the walls of which exhibited micro/mesoporous texture. It was demonstrated...

Odds betting as a form of pathologic gambling among adolescents
DOKULIL, Ondřej
The diploma thesis focuses on fixed-odds betting among male adolescents. In theoretical part, game as a whole life matter is explained, afterwards it aims closer to hazard game, especially fixed-odds betting. Regarding to children, multiple smaller studies, focused on risky behaviour on the internet and gambling, are introduced. Empirical part combines qualitative and quantitative approach. Interviews with betters jointly with the theory creates the base for hypothesises and questionnaire, which was distributed in five schools; three elementary and two high schools. Results of the empirical part are suggesting that adolescent boys have experiences with fixed-odds betting even though they are not of age. Frequently, the reason for betting is being involved in sport and the favourite form is on-line betting.

Use of Poisson distribution for prediction of sports matches results
Svoboda, Ondřej ; Malá, Ivana (advisor) ; Čabla, Adam (referee)
The aim of this master thesis is to verify possibility to use Poisson distribution for predicting soccer matches. At first for analysis is applied the original model from English statisticians Mark J. Dixon and Stuart G. Coles from 1997. Thereafter the model is extended in the thesis. All models are based on the maximum likelihood method. Chosen league for deducing conclusions is the first English league - Premier League. The matches are played in the period from season 2004/2005 to half of season 2015/2016. For identification of models performance are used the most market odds from American bookmaker Pinnacle. In the theoretical part are described models and statistical methods that are used in the practical part. In the practical part are realized calculations. Counted performance of models is based on profit from market odds. In the period ex-post are calculated optimum model parameters that are used in the ex-ante period, where is calculated performance of the model. The thesis answers question: Are these models gaining from public database effective in modern age?

Polycyclotrimerization of alkynes with internal ethynyl groups
Sokol, Jiří ; Sedláček, Jan (advisor) ; Balcar, Hynek (referee)
The diynes of both aliphatic and aromatic types comprising either (i) two internal ethynyl groups or (ii) one internal and one terminal ethynyl group in the molecule were revealed as appropriate monomers for the Co2(CO)8 catalyzed polycyclotrimerization yielding high-molecular-weight products. The polycyclotrimerization of aliphatic diynes with a short (CH2)2 link between ethynyl groups and the polycyclotrimerization of aromatic diynes provided polycyclotrimer networks with tri-, tetra-, penta- and hexasubstituted benzene segments. The polycyclotrimers of aliphatic diynes did not exhibit microporous texture. On the other side, the polycyclotrimers of aromatic monomers were mostly microporous with specific surface area up to SBET = 499 m2 /g. The nitrogen desorption isotherms on microporous polycyclotrimers exhibited a significant unclosed hysteresis. This indicated that the penetration of nitrogen into polymers was accompanied by formation of temporary pores or opening permanent pores of worse accessibility.
